Schuylkill County businesses cited

Two Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the state liquor control board's Allentown enforcement office.

Daniel Jenkins, trading as The Old Buckhorn Cafe, Front and Lawton streets., St. Clair, was cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to one male minor, 19 years of age. The offense occurred on May 27.Shawn Brennan, trading as Brennan's Center City Beverage, 1208 Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, cited for issuing checks or drafts dated May 19 in payment for puchases of malt or brewed beverages, when there was insufficient funds in, or credit with, the insitution upon which drawn for the payment of such checks.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
