The reunion committee of the former St. Ann's School in Lansford gathered Monday to fine-tune plans for what may be their final "big hoorah!"
The classmates are planning the "Silver Pennies" reunion for Aug. 28 at La Casa Dolce restaurant in Tamaqua.
The reunion is open to all graduates, said committeewoman Sandra (Pforr) Delpero.
The festivities will start at 4 p.m. with hor d'ouevres, followed by a family-style dinner that includes chicken, haddock, filet mignon, salad, fresh vegetables, penne pasta, potatoes and red velvet cake.
Plenty of old photos, entertainment and memories will be served up.
Member Joe Bechtel, who will serve as Master of Ceremonies, said the school graduated classes from 1927 through 1954.
Reservations have come in from as far away as Colorado.
Classmates Mary E. Ciganek; Blanche (Colancecco) Rego; Betty (Wilhelm) Morgans; Veronica (Serina) Bazik; Delpero; Bechtel; Catherine (Barron) Davis and Renee (Mariotti) Novak attended the gathering Monday at Rosie's Restaurant in Lansford.
Committee members who could not attend include Nicoletta (Giantesano) Olsovsky, Pauline (Lisella) Raftopoulos and Richard Giantesano.
To make reservations, due by Aug. 13, call Morgans at (570) 669-9852, or Delpero at (570) 645-3454. Reservations may also be made via email to Raftopoulos at email@example.com.
