On Tuesday, April 20, the East Carbon County Democratic Club will hold a special open meeting for area registered Democrats. The meeting will take place at the Penn Kidder School Campus at 7 p.m.
The guest speakers are Corey O'Brien, who is a candidate for Pennsylvania's 11th congressional district in the upcoming primary. He will address the membership and guests on the reasons why he thinks he should replace Rep. Paul Kanjorski, who is a 28-year incumbent; and Joseph Werner, campaign manager for Congressman Kanjorski, who will explain Kanjorski's achievements in office and why he believes he should be returned to the U.S. House of Representatives.
The candidate selected in the May 18 Primary election to send to Congress, will affect the future growth or decline of 11th U.S. Congressional District. With that in mind the club has opened its meeting to registered Democrats interested in the 11th district.
