Mr. Robert Hines, Pleasant Valley High School's associate principal was awarded the Campaign Chairperson's award for medium size institutions from the United Way for helping chair the annual giving campaign for the district.
The Campaign Chairperson's Award was given to Pleasant Valley for its consistent leadership in giving to the United Way among the Monroe County schools. PV has led in giving among the school districts in Monroe County for the last five years.
Last year, PV's student body was recognized for Outstanding Giving - specifically the Future Business Leaders of America, the HS Girls' volleyball team, students at PV Elementary for a Dodge ball Tournament and Middle School Student Council fundraising.
PV has a long relationship with United Way with many awards in the past being won by Mr. Anthony Fadule, Assistant Superintendent who chaired the Education Committee, Chris Fisher, Assistant to the Superintendent who served many years on the United Way board of directors, Dr. Frank Pullo, former PV Superintendent who actively encouraged participation and Mr. Dan Wunder, retired Principal at PV Elementary who received the campaign chair award a few years ago.
Mr. Hines gave the award to the PVSD school board.
"I graciously accept this on behalf of the school board but it should go to the staff at Pleasant Valley," said Susan Kresge, PVSD school board president.
