Colonial League Tourney

Dan Costenbader won his second straight Colonial League title, edging his close friend and Palmerton teammate, Mike Englert by two strokes.

Costenbader, a senior, made three birdies and three bogeys on the front nine at Bethlehem Municipal then parred every hole on the back side to win with a 1-under par 70.

"I got pretty many good breaks," Costenbader said. "I got good bounces here and there. But my chipping is what saved it. If I was in the trees and had to punch out or something, I'd chip it to three feet and make every putt on the back nine. It feels great. I'm pretty excited."

Northwestern's Devin Haddad took second place in the girls tournament, shooting 104. Bangor's Stani Schiavone won the girls title with a 75.

Palmerton won the team tournament championship with a four-player score of 315 to Saucon Valley's 319. But Saucon won the league's regular season title based on it's five-player score of 408 to Palmerton's 409.
