Penn Forest break-ins under police probe

Two break-ins at properties in Penn Forest Township are being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said the incidents were reported to them as having happened between 5:30 and 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.The victims are Robert Ziegenfus, 57, of Palmerton, and John Buehrley, 62, of Coopersburg.Police said someone approached a residence at 717 Hatchery Road from an unknown direction and made a forced entry into the detached garage, where they removed $2,200 worth of tools and other property.They also made a forced entry into a shed at 738 Hatchery Road. Items stolen from the shed will be provided at a later date, police said.
