The Carbon County Environmental Education Center will host a hike in search of migrating birds at 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.

"The Early Bird Hike" begins at CCEEC and continues along easy walking trails. The hike will be led by birder and CCEEC volunteer Rob Bergstresser.Participants are asked to wear sturdy shoes and to bring field guides if possible. All ages and interest levels are welcome. The program is free to CCEEC members and a fee is requested from non-members.CCEEC is located at the west end of Mauch Chunk Lake Park, just outside Jim Thorpe, along Lentz Trail highway.For details or to register, call (570) 645-8597.
