On Saturday Sue Schafer was appointed the Humane Law Enforcement Officer for Tamaqua by Mayor Chris Morrison. A Humane Law Enforcement Officer investigates acts of cruelty to animals, and can arrest those who commit such acts. This position is designed to protect domestic animals from abuse and neglect.
