A two vehicle traffic accident occurred at about 6:22 a.m. Monday at the Normal Square intersection in Mahoning Township. Rebecca Ondrovic, 25, of New Ringgold, was traveling east on SR443 in a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis and turned left into the path of an oncoming 2004 Chevrolet Van traveling west driven by a Shawn Ketchledge, 37, of Summit Hill. A violent head-on crash then occurred. The van driven by Ketchledge also had three passengers. Ondrovic and all three passengers in the Ketchledge van were injured and transported to Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, by Lehighton Ambulance. The road was closed for more than an hour. Mahoning Township Police were assisted by the Mahoning Valley Fire Department and Fire Police. The accident is being investigated by Officer Amie Barclay.
