Firefighters visit LB Morris School

Friday, October 9, 2009
VICTOR IZZO/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Volunteer firefighters from the Albrightsville Fire Company and Penn Forest No. 1 & 2 Fire Companies visited the L.B. Morris Elementary School in Jim Thorpe on Thursday as part of the National Fire Prevention Week activities. Among the highlights of their visit was the presence of the Albrightsville Fire Company's Fire Safety House trailer where children learned how to properly exit a smoke-filled structure. The realistic looking "smoke" was actually safe and non-toxic "stage smoke" and was not harmful in any way. In top photo Penn Forest Fire Company No 1 Volunteer Cody Walck helps first grader Jared Marykwas exit the Albrightsville Fire Company's Fire Safety House trailer.
