Burglary, theft incident probed

State police at Lehighton are investigating a burglary and theft from a construction site incident.

The break-in occurred a the residence of Michael Behler, 45, of 211 Fireline Rd., Bowmanstown, Carbon County. Removed from the residence was 50 DVD movies, $50 in U.S. currency, a Motorola brand cellular phone and a 1983 Palmerton High School class ring with an aquamarine stone. The incident occurred sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7.The theft occurred a a construction site along Point Phillips Road, a half-mile south of Lower Smith Gap Road, in Edlred Township, Monroe County. Taken from the site was 60 feet of copper piping and 2,000 feet of electrical wiring. The listed victims are Custred Electrical and Cool Breeze, who are subcontractors working at the site, troopers said. The incident occurred sometime between 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. on Thursday.Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
