Mahanoy Area School District won appeals before the Schuylkill County Assessments Appeals Board to increase the assessment on 22 properties located in its district following a hearing held Monday at the courthouse in Pottsville. Three area property owners won appeals to lower the assessment on their properties.

The rulings on properties appealed by the school board were as follows:

Robert W. Fertig, 8 Walnut Street, Delano, the market value was increased from $24,540 to $34,720 and assessment from $12,270 to $17,360, an increase in assessment of $5,090.

Douglas Baker and Angel Todaro, 185 Chee Street, Barnesville, market value increased from $50,090 to $75,810 and assessment from $25,045 to $37,905, an increase of $12,260 in assessment.

Gary Brown, 715 Tuscarora Mountain Road, Barnesville, on property at 716 Barnesville Street, market value increased from $18,370 to $33,520 and assessment from $9,195 to $16,760, an increase in assessment of $7,575.

Thomas J. Kozie, 796 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville, Ryan Township, market value increased from $83,630 to $105,740 and assessment from $41,815 to $52,870, an increase in assessment of $11,055.

Elizabeth Metzger, etal, 19 Bernard Road, Barnesville, market value increased from $91,700 to $124,480 and assessment from $45,850 to $62,240, an increase in assessment of $16,390.

Clara McKinley, 757 Claremont Avenue, Tamaqua, on tract containing 1.7 acres on south side of a private road in Village of Elixer, Rush Township, containing a mobile home, market value increased from $54,026 to $102,940 and assessment from $27,015 to $51,470, an increase in assessment of $24,455.

RBC Lakeside real Estate, LLC, 40 Crystal Lane, Banresville, on property at 46 Crystal Lane, market value increased from $135,873 to $199,500 and assessment from $67,935 to $99,750, an increase in assessment of $31,815.

Joseph M. and Vera F. Witconis, 77 Orchard Road, Barnesville, market value increased from $173,873 to $223,440 and assessment from $66,935 to $111,720, an increase in assessment of $24,785.

Barry W. and Mary E. Brassington, 76 Williams St., Barnesville, market value increased from $120,210 to $139,650 and assessment from $60,105 to $69,825, an increase in assessment of $9,720.

Gary W. Smith, 728 State Road, Barnesville, market value increased from $128,318 to $154,680 and assessment from $64,160 to $79,800, an increase in assessment of $15,640.

Joseph F. LIpscomb, Philadelphia, on tract containing 6.96 acres on south side of Pine Street, Barnesville, market value increased from $15,720 to $121,300 and assessment from $7,860 to $60,650, an increase in assessment of $29,655.

Robert P. Leary, 291 Park Place Road, Mahanoy Township, market value increased from $47,470 to $83,000 and assessment from $23,735 to $41,500, an increase in assessment of $17,765.

Anthony J. Mizic, 225 E. Centre St., Mahanoy City, market value increased from $25,240 to $39,820 and assessment from $12,610 to $19,910, an increase of $7,290 in assessment.

Ryan W. Coxe, 167 Roosevelt Drive, Mahanoy City, market value increased from $12,040 to $27,930 and assessment from $6,020 to $13,968, an increase in assessment of $7,945.

Harrison Fritz and Devon Peal, 428 W. Pine St., Mahanoy City, market value increased from $19,608 to $33,520 and assessment from $9,800 to $16,790, an increase in assessment of $6,960.

Leonard and Cheryl Peters, 139 E. Mahanoy Avenue, Mahanoy City, market value increased from $25,040 to $37,508 and assessment from $12,520 to $18,750. an increase in assessment of $6,230.

Shawn P. Sullivan, 702 W. Pine St., Mahanoy City, on property containing 2.8547 acres on north side in Admiral Coal Company Minor Subdivision, Park Place, Mahanoy Township, market value increased from $1,040 to $22,780 and assessment from $528 to $11,390, an increase in assessment of $10,870.

Scott A. Body and Gretta N. Sweigert, 207 W. Spruce St., Mahanoy City, market value increased from $19,850 to $29,520 and assessment from $9,925 to $14,760, an increase in assessment of $4,838.

Stephen C. Forro, 116 Long Run Road, Gilberton, market value increased from $11,620 to $22,790 and assessment $5,810 to $11,372, an increase in assessment of $5,560.

Barry L. Heiser Sr., 48 N. Eighth St., Mahanoy City, market value increased from $11,780 to $22,340 and assessment from $5,880 to $11,170. an increase in assessment of $5,290.

Rebecca L. Mellen, 10 E. Pine St., Mahanoy City, market value increased from $15,280 to $31,920 and assessment from $7,640 to $15,960, an increase of $8,320 in assessment.

Win decreases

Tomarno Properties, LLC, Andreas, West Penn Township, on property at 913 W. Norwegian St., Pottsville, market value decreased from $35,300 to $20,460 and assessment from $17,650 to $10,230, a decrease of $7,420 in assessment.

Todd and Brenda Kimmel, 196 Rabbit Run Road, Andreas, West Penn Township, market value decreased from $302,920 to $205,720 and assessment from $151,920 to $107,860. a decrease of $48,600 in assessment.
