The following Pet Blessing Services have been scheduled in the Tamaqua area this weekend, in honor of the festival day of St. Francis of Assisi.

Zion's Stone Church, Lutheran and United Church of Christ, Cemetery Road, West Penn Township - Saturday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m., on the church grounds, with the Rev. Michael A, Frost, pastor, officiating.St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pine and Mauch Chunk Streets, Tamaqua - Saturday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m., in the church garden. This will be weather permitting. The rain date is Saturday, Oct. 10.Calvary Episcopal Church, 300 West Broad Street, Tamaqua - Sunday, Oct. 4 at 10:45 a.m. service. Owners are responsible for pet control.
