A Monroe County service station was robbed by a suspect who displayed a handgun and was wearing a Halloween mask.

State police at Lehighton said the incident occurred at Borger's Service Station, 51 Old Route 115, in Ross Township, on Wednesday about 12:15 p.m.

Troopers said a white male entered the station and displayed a silver semi-automatic handgun. No one else was in the station except an employee. The suspect jabbed the handgun into the victim's rib cage and demanded money. The robber got away with about $1,000 from the cash register. The station attendant was not injured in the incident.

The suspect fled the scene in a older model Buick or Pontiac sedan, gray in color. He fled south on Old Route 115 in the direction of Windgap.

He is described as being five-feet, nine to 11 inches tall, medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black Halloween mask.
