Tamaqua Halloween Parade Awards presented

The top awards for the Tamaqua Halloween Parade, held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, were presented during a ceremony Nov. 11 at the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce. The Tamaqua Lions Club is the sponsor for the parade, and Mauch Chunk Trust Company was the major corporate sponsor, providing the prizes for the Best of Show, as well as the Top Marching Unit and Top Motorized/Float entry. Participating in the awards presentation were, seated from left, Megan Hill, Jamie Loving and Sarah Hill of Mr. Twister, second place, marching division; and Gayle Heath, Tamaqua Public Library director, representing the library, the second place motorized winner. Back row, Lori Lewis and Charlee Biacco, representing Brownie Troop 31296, first place marchers; Bill Yost, Tamaqua Lions Halloween Parade chairman; Steve Bayer, Tamaqua Lions president; Mike Prock, Mauch Chunk Trust Co. Hometown branch manager; Sue Schafer of Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue, first place, floats/motorized; and Debra Hosler of DH Double Hard Cleaning Service, third place, floats/motorized. Climb-A-Lot Clubhouse, Hometown, took the prize for Best of Show.
