Christ UCC, Barnesville, celebrates 200 years

The UCC congregation of Christ United Church of Christ, Barnesville, celebrated its 200th anniversary with a dinner at Lakeside Ballroom on Sunday, Nov. 1. A total of 250 attended the dinner, including two past ministers, the Rev. Tom Souders and the Rev. James Adams. An anniversary service was held at the chuch earlier in the day with the Rev. Janet Kline, pastor, officiating. The dinner included a power point display of photos from the church's 200 year history that was compiled by Carolyn Jenkins and put together by Debbie Sweeney and Francis Flexer. The Morrison family performed a concert following the dinner. Members of the anniversary committee included, seated from left, Karen Chrin and Susan Kester. Second row, Betty Brobst, Carolyn Jenkins, Jean Zeplin, Ruth Grube, Wayne Grube and the Rev. Janet Kline. Third row, Debbie Sweeney, Loretta Beltz, June Guy, Paul Bartell, Arthur Zeplin (chairman), Kathy Bartell and Mary Ann Deeble.
