Christopher R. Hans, 24, and Joseph J. Brennan II, 24, both of Ashland, have been charged by state police at the Frackville barracks with robbery, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault and simple assault, as well as other charges, following an incident Wednesday at 12:20 p.m. at the R & R Quick Mart, Girardville.

They were arraigned and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, in lieu of $50,000 bail.Police said Hans entered the store and displayed a handgun, demanding money from the clerk, but the clerk began to scream and ran to the back of the store to summon the manager, at which time Hans exited the store and entered a vehicle operated by Brennan which fled the scene.Police said a bystander observed the incident and obtained the registration plate number and a description of the vehicle, which was later stopped by Ashland and Butler Township police.
