In girls basketball action, Lehighton and Northern Lehigh were winners.

MMI Prep-Weatherly

Keith Barna had a complete game against MMI Prep, as he finished with a game-high 22 points, six rebounds and four assists and led the Wreckers to a 57-51 win.

Nate Pfeiffer chipped in 14 points and five assists for Weatherly, which improved to 3-1.

The Wreckers squeaked out the JV game as well, winning 57-56.

Marian jumped out to a 25-13 halftime lead and never looked back, as the Colts beat up on Natvity 58-41.

Drew Sherkness led the Colts with a game-high 16 points. Teammates Chris Barletta and Ryan Gimbi each added 11 in the winning effort.

The Colts are now 4-1 (2-0) on the year.

Marian also won the JV game by a score of 57-31.

Bangor's Andy Mulitsch scored 29 points, including six three-pointers, and led his Slaters to a 61-43 victory over their Colonial League opponent in Northwestern.

The Tigers' leading scorer was Toby Koenig, who finished with 11 points. Trevor German was the next highest with nine.

The Indians' Jordyn Homyak led all scorers with 24 points. She made nine field goals and connected on six-of-seven free throws. No other Lehighton player scored more than three points.

The Timberwolves were led by Jessy Ortiz and her 12 points. All of her points came from beyond the three-point arc.

In a contest that featured 57 combined free throw attempts, Delaware Valley's Meagan Boccio poured in 20 points to help her team to a 55-46 victory over Pleasant Valley (2-3).

Kim Commisso also added 11 points in the Warriors' victory.

For Pleasant Valley, Kasey Meckes and Amber Schieffo led the way with 14 and 12 points respectively.

In the JV game, the Bears prevailed by a final score of 46-40.

Sonya Josephson led the Bulldogs with 17 points (13 in the first half) and Aimee Oertner chipped in with 15 (13 in the first half).

For Catasauqua, Angela Rigopoulos had eight points in the loss.

Northern Lehigh also came away with a 37-20 victory in the JV game.

Panther Valley swept in its Schuylkill League swim meet with Mt. Carmel on Tuesday, winning 103-64 on the girls' side and 52-47 on the boys' side.

Karoline Vavra, Alexia Follweiler and Lauren Cormier all won two individual events for the Lady Panthers.

Vavra won both the 50 and 100 Free, Follweiler took the 100 Fly and the 500 Free and Cormier placed first in both the 200 IM and the 100 Breast. Each were also on the winning 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay teams.

Jason Gates won multiple events on the boys' side. He won the 100 Breast and the 500 Free by default. Michael McCarroll (50 Free) and Michael Sloboda (100 Fly) had first place finishes as well.
