Armed robbery probed

Lansford police are investigating an alleged armed robbery/armed home invasion which occurred just after 9 p.m. Friday.

The incident occurred at 214 E. Snyder Ave.Just seconds after the call went out Lansford, Coaldale, Summit Hill and Nesquehoning police converged on the scene, nabbing three of the four fleeing suspects. The fourth suspect, Josh Barlip, believed to have been armed with a handgun, turned himself in on Saturday.Police report the four entered the home and that one of the suspects pistol whipped the 21-year-old occupant. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Lansford ambulance and transported to the Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. Police located the suspect's car several hundred feet away and impounded it.Police report additional charges are pending including of the victim after finding drug paraphernalia in the home.
