Andrea L. Arner, daughter of Rick L. and Debra A. Arner of New Ringgold, became the bride of Jason M. Smithmyer, son of William and Mary Smithmyer of Dysart, Pa., on Oct. 10, 2009, in St. Peter's Church.

The Rev. Rodney Wells and Kenneth Melber Jr., officiated the double ring ceremony. The vocalist was Wayne Conahan.Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Kelly Remaley of Germansville, as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Monica Brunner of Rochester, Pa.; Stacy Allesch of Tamaqua; and Michelle Kunkle of New Ringgold.Flower girls were Bryn Miller of Tamaqua and Bethany Opiela of Pittsburgh.The bridegroom chose Nicholas Smithmyer of Dysart as his best man. Ushers were Christopher Smithmyer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Leo Kowalski of Pittsburgh; and Ben Clauto of Galitzin, Pa. Ring bearer was Hunter Zehner of Slatington.Following the ceremony, a reception was held at St. Nicholas Catering Hall in Minersville. The couple then honeymooned in Cozumel, Mexico.The couple now resides in Coalport.Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at La Dolce Casa, Tamaqua.The new Mrs. Smithmyer is a 2004 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 2008 graduate of Penn State University.She is employed as a registered nurse at Lehigh Valley Health Network.Mr. Smithmyer is a 2002 graduate of Cambria Heights High School and a 2007 graduate of Penn State University.He is employed as a plumber at Smithmyer Plumbing and Heating.
